Man arrested in dumpster after alleged armed robbery at Kingswood Hotel in Sydney’s west
Police will allege a man, who was arrested after being found hiding in a dumpster following a police chase, held up a Western Sydney pub at gunpoint, making off with $20,000.

A man will face court after he was arrested in dramatic fashion following an alleged armed robbery at a pub in Sydney’s west.
Police were called to the Kingswood Hotel on the Great Western Highway shortly before 1am after officers were told a man entered the premises and allegedly threatened three employees with a firearm, before fleeing with $20,000 in cash.
During a search of the area, police stopped a rideshare vehicle and spoke with a male passenger before he fled on foot, jumping a number of fences on First Ave.
Officers found a firearm and clothing allegedly belonging to the man inside the rideshare vehicle.
A short time later officers, with the assistance of the Dog Unit, found the man in a dumpster on Bringelly Lane.
During a search of the man, police located and seized $20,000, which they will allege was stolen from the pub.
The 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon.
The Telopea man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
