Man allegedly charges Campsie Police Station with meat cleaver

A 35-year old man allegedly wielding a meat cleaver has attacked and injured a police officer inside Campsie Police Station overnight.

A 35-year old man allegedly attacked and injured an officer while wielding a meat cleaver at Campsie Police Station last night.

At 10pm on Tuesday the 15th Decheng Ning allegedly charged Campsie Police Station and threatened police officers while he approached the front desk to strike a constable with the meat cleaver.

It is alleged after refusing to listen to police instructions and drop the cleaver, he was capsicum sprayed and arrested.

During the arrest, police allege a Detective sergeant suffered a minor injury to his shoulder.

The man was charged with use or possession of weapon to resist arrest and refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court Wednesday.
