Two police officers in hospital after ‘attack’ at Central Station

Two police officers were taken to hospital on Friday afternoon after they were allegedly attacked by a man at a Sydney railway station.
Officers from Police Transport Command were patrolling Central Railway Station about 4pm on Friday when they stopped to speak to a female passenger.
As they spoke to her they were approached by a man who attempted to interfere.
One officer tried to arrest the man before he allegedly attacked him and a colleague.
An Acting Sergeant was treated by paramedics for a dislocated shoulder while a Senior Constable suffered a broken nose.
They were both taken to St Vincents hospital for further treatment.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault police officer in execution of duty – cause actual bodily harm and hinder/resist police in the execution of duty.
The man was refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.
