Suspect still at large as police investigate fatal stabbing at party in Lake Macquarie

Five days after a man was fatally stabbed at a party in a home in Gateshead, police are continuing their search for the suspect.

A suspect remains on the run five days after a man was fatally stabbed at a party in a home near Lake Macquarie.

Police were called to a property on Mahogany Crescent in Gateshead just before midnight on Thursday, January 9, where they found a man in his 30s with multiple stab wounds.

Despite efforts by paramedics, the man died at the scene.

A major investigation was launched, with police working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers have been speaking with witnesses and conducting extensive door-to-door inquiries in the area.

NSW Police confirmed their investigations remain ongoing, with the suspect still at large.
