Wild new theory on possible fate of Sydney conwoman Melissa Caddick

A victim of Sydney conwoman Melissa Caddick is disgusted that her husband Anthony Koletti is making a claim on a share of her property and assets which were bought with money she stole from her.

“He’s already had 10 years of living the high life on our money,‘’ said a ripped off investor who lost more than $500,000 because she trusted Caddick.

“I find it incredible he’s been allowed to live rent free in that house for over a year,” she said, referring to the multimillion-dollar Dover Heights mansion Koletti shared with the 49-year-old fraudster and her teenage son.

Details of his claims were released by the Federal court yesterday where he is seeking proceeds of the sale of the home which he claims is worth more than $15m and another property where her parents live in the eastern suburbs.

Koletti, who was not aware or involved in any of his wife’s fraud still lives in the property.

He also wants the Australian Investment and Securities Commission to return to him her Gucci weddings dress, jewellery including Canturi diamond ring set and other pieces including her wedding ring with a combined worth of more than $100,000. He also wants five John Olsen original paintings.

All of the goods were seized after ASIC uncovered that the fake investment adviser had run a Ponzi scheme ripping investors of more than $23m. The unemployed hair dresser also said he cannot get work because of all the publicity surrounding the case. He also wants a percentage of the proceeds of shares and luxury cars that are to be sold.

The sale of the two properties and millions of dollars in assets were to be sold off and the funds to help compensate those ripped off by Caddick.

In November 2020, Caddick vanished off the face of the earth just a day after ASIC had raided her home and the major fraud she had committed started to unravel.

Speculation she had staged her death were dispelled when her decomposed foot was found on the south coast in February last year. Police believe she is dead despite wild conspiracy theories she cut her foot off to fake her death.

The attempt by Mr Koletti to keep her ill gotten gains now he is aware victims lost millions has astounded many.

“Can I tell you what’s frustrating?,’’ a victim has told The Daily Telegraph.

“The legal system allows him to do this when Melissa Caddick didn’t make one credible trade. I’d love to send him a bill so we can say this is what you’ve spent.

“He has no empathy, but a huge level of entitlement.”

“We’ve also had to watch ghastly TV shows about all this, it’s rubbing salt in the wounds. “These shows don’t show any empathy to what the victims are going through. We’ve got no chance of getting more than 10 cents in the dollar. Koletti has had a good life and he continues to live rent free. He should have been told to leave that house - he’s been there 18 months.

“It’s a $19,000 a month mortgage, how much does he owe, despite not having an income?”
