The power base of the Alameddine crime family has expanded and become even more of a super power for police to battle, with senior members of the clan linked to a major figure in the Hells Angels bikie gang.
Photos show Mustafa Hafizi, a prominent member of the Chinatown Chapter of the bikie gang in Sydney, is also a close associate of alleged Alameddine boss Rafat Alamedine and his exiled right-hand man, Masood Zakaria.
The Alameddine network has a long established working relationship with Comanchero OMCG supremo Mark Buddle and his gang.
But with the addition of the Hells Angels, NSW Police are having to deal with the fact that two of the most powerful and violent bikie gangs, as well as a Middle Eastern organised crime family, are working together.
The Hells Angel and Comanchero bike gangs have traditionally been bitter rivals, involved in the infamous airport brawl in 2009 and a long-running battle in 2013 that saw a number of shootings and fatalities.
“That old hatred is gone, especially at the top of the tree,” a senior police source said.
“Where money is concerned they will throw out all that sh**. You will find that the HA’s (Hells Angels) and Commos (Comanchero) will actually bring in importations together.”
Hafizi has a low public profile but is considered one of the city‘s most influential crime figures, thanks to a wide network of connections throughout the city and overseas.
Sources say he is a “big earner‘’ for the club.
“He has a pretty violent reputation and is also known to have a powerful, and influential network, which makes him very valuable to the club,” an underworld source said.
Police have long been aware of Hafizi’s underworld involvement and in 2012 arrested him for his role in a shooting at a Parramatta hotel, where he refused to remove his bikie gang colours.
Hafizi was subsequently convicted and jailed for five years.
The 34-year-old was also among the names on a short list of individuals police banned Rafat Alameddine and Masood Zakaria from association with when they took out Serious Crime Prevention Orders in 2020.
Photos show Hafizi next to Zakaria and other alleged Alameddine clan associates, including Joseph Vokai – the alleged leader of street gang KVT, who allegedly act as muscle for the Alameddines - and rapper Ali “Ay Huncho” Younes.
Younes is currently out on Supreme Court bail on charges of affray and recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm in company after an alleged assault at a boxing event last November with two other men, including Moshtaba Hafizi - the brother of Mustafa.
“Hafizi was particularly close to Zakaria,” another police source said.
“But he has come in for plenty of attention recently, as has everyone associated with the crime networks involved in the conflict, even if they are just peripheral.”
The Daily Telegraph understands that Hafizi has been a Hells Angel for the past ten years after moving over from the Bandidos OMCG.
A number of underworld sources called Hafizi “a real gangster‘’ who has earned a fearsome reputation on the streets.
“He gets things done,” said the source, without going into detail.
Photos supplied to The Daily Telegraph include Hafizi with American rapper A Boogie, but others include an image of badges on his bikie colours showing his deeds for the club.
“The Filthy Few flash he is wearing is awarded to a member who performs extreme acts of violence on behalf of the club,‘’ the source said.
“The Dequiallo flash worn is awarded for acts of violence against law enforcement.”
Hafizi is currently facing a charge of resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty and he is due to face a Local Court hearing on July 1.
BHC is for a member who has spent time incarcerated.
