The Umina Beach woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is on bail and was excused when her matter was briefly mentioned at Gosford Local Court on Friday.
She is facing charges of attempted murder and using poison to endanger life.
Charge sheets tendered to the court allege that on August 12 2020 the woman did attempt to murder her daughter and gave her “a poison namely insulin”.
Her lawyer emailed the court to request a bail variation to the condition that she cannot be in the company of anyone under the age of 16.
The court heard the woman worked at a business on the Central Coast and requested the variation to work at the store and serve customers.
Magistrate Jennifer Price denied the bail variation until further information is provided.
“Given the serious nature of the matters I am not prepared to grant the bail variation,” she said.
