A former Hells Angels and Bandidos bikie boss has died overseas after a battle with cancer.

Infamous Sydney underworld figure Felix Lyle died in Russia on Saturday surrounded by family members including son Dallas Fitzgerald.

In 2017, the notorious crime figure was deported to New Zealand after spending four years in prison for fraud, supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs and dealing with the proceeds of crime, which resulted in having his visa cancelled.

He then travelled to Russia where his son, who is also referred to as “Mr Pink”, has resided since 2019.

Also known as “Big F”, the ex-bikie became head of the Sydney chapter of the Hells Angels after he was stripped of his leadership of powerful rival gang, the Bandidos.

In 2006, his title was revoked by successor Rodney “Hooks” Monk for “not being of good character.”

Lyle was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1957, and travelled to Sydney at a young age to attend school, before becoming a bouncer at The Bourbon and Beefsteak in Kings Cross.

He was known not for riding a motorbike but for his bright red Bentley which police say was used to store wads of cash, with Lyle unlicensed and bankrupt at the time.

The father son duo were also linked to the theft of millions of dollars worth of drugs from Bandidos associate Milad Sande, who was shot dead in 2005.

In 2006, Fitzgerald was reported to have been kidnapped and tortured by Monk for his part in the drug theft from Sande.

Shortly after, Monk was murdered by one of Lyle’s followers, Russell Oldham who was shot dead that same year.

In 2011, son Fitzgerald was jailed for his part in a $150 million money laundering scheme, where funds were stolen from bank JP Morgan on Christmas Eve in 2003 and laundered through Hong Kong.

A jury found Fitzgerald was a key player in the scam, which was headed by Sydney underworld figure Tony Vincent.

At the time he was rumoured to have been promoted to national sergeant-at-arms of the Hells Angels following in the footsteps of his father.
