The fiancee of a tradie who died on Christmas Eve in a freak workplace accident has made a touching tribute to her “heart and soul”.
Tradie Aaron Greentree, 29, died just after 10am on Tuesday, when he received an electric shock while working on an airconditioning unit at a home in Jet Place, Eagle Vale.
Emergency services attended the scene to assist him but pronounced him dead when they arrived.
It’s understood Mr Greentree was working in the roof cavity of the home when the incident occurred.
Instead of posting about Santa visiting her two young daughters on Christmas Day, Tiarne instead posted a tribute to her long-term partner Aaron.
“No words can describe the devastation we are feeling and the impact his absence has on our family,” she wrote.
“He will be forever loved and missed and will live on through his children and in our memories.
“The best gift he gave me was our girls and my heart will ache for the rest of my life.
“I love you Aaron, you were my heart and soul and I am so sorry.”
The pair had been engaged for some time and together for close to a decade.
An online fundraiser has been launched to support Tiarne and the couple’s little girls in the wake of the tragedy. More than $15,000 has been raised to support them so far.
NSW Police are working alongside SafeWork NSW to investigate the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.
