Man suffers head and hand injuries in suspected machete attack in Sydney’s west

A man in his 40s has been hospitalised with serious injuries after an early-morning incident in Sydney’s west.

A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a suspected machete attack in Sydney’s west early this morning.

Just after 4am on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Aurora Drive in Tregear after reports a man had been found with head and hand injuries.

Paramedics treated the man, aged in his 40s, before transporting him to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene at a nearby unit on Bransfield St and have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers are probing whether the man was struck with a machete.
