A Sydney family has been left heartbroken this Christmas, after a doting dad died in a freak accident while completing one of his final shifts of the year.

Tradie Aaron Greentree tragically died on Tuesday morning, after he was electrocuted while working on an airconditioning unit at a home in Jet Place, Eagle Vale just after 10am.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to assist him, but he was pronounced dead upon their arrival. It’s understood he was working in the roof cavity of the home when the incident occurred.

Mr Greentree, a devoted father from Oakdale in Sydney’s south west, has two young daughters with his long-term partner, who woke up without their dad on Christmas morning.

A person close to Mr Greentree’s tight-knit family told the Telegraph the family was “shattered”.

“We can’t even begin to understand this … he was the best dad, we are shattered for his girls.

“How do you break this news to them, especially on Christmas.

“He was a beautiful young man. May he rest in peace.”

Mr Greentree turned 29 just last month, and was engaged to the mother of his two little girls.

A crime scene was established on Jet Place on Tuesday, with NSW Police working alongside SafeWork NSW to investigate the circumstances surrounding the electrocution and the 29-year-old’s death.

Forensic officers spent hours at the home, removing roof tiles to access Mr Greentree’s body and photographing the scene and inside of Mr Greentree’s work vehicle.

Some of his friends visited the tragic scene, but were too distraught to say much, simply commenting on how heartbroken they were for his children and wider family.

The Telegraph contacted his employer, Grosvenor Engineering Group, for comment but they did not respond.
