A man has been arrested in dramatic fashion after an explosion at a property in Canley Vale on Thursday led police to a possible clandestine drug laboratory.
Incredible pictures show the man, wearing a scrunched-up forensic suit, barefoot and in handcuffs, being walked out of the crime scene in Sydney’s southwest between two NSW Police officers just before noon.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command executed a search warrant where they found the man.
Police entered the premises and arrested a 31-year-old man before taking him to Fairfield Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries,” the statement read.
“A crime scene has been established, which will be examined by specialist officers from the State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Team.”
The man was placed on a NSW Ambulance stretcher but refused to be taken to hospital and was instead taken for questioning.
