Former NSW Liberal MP and accused child rapist Rory Amon met his alleged victim on a gay “hook-up” website called squirt.org while pretending to be a 17-year-old boy, a court has heard.

The 35-year-old former Pittwater MP is facing multiple child sex charges amid allegations he repeatedly sexually abused the then-13-year-old boy on two occasions in 2017 while Amon was an elected councillor for Northern Beaches Council.

It is alleged he told the teen he was 17 years old during their initial communication, when in fact, he was in his late 20s.

Full details of the police allegations against Amon can be revealed for the first time after The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday won a legal fight to have the information released to the media, despite objections by prosecutors and Amon’s legal team.

The documents state the complainant signed up to squirt.org, described as a “gay hook-up website” in mid-March 2017 under a free 10-day trial.

He connected with Amon, allegedly telling him he was 15 years old, before the pair switched to Snapchat and allegedly began exchanging explicit images and photos of themselves.

It is alleged the two agreed to meet at the apartment block where the complainant lived with his family, with their first encounter taking place sometime between June and July, 2017.

According to police claims in court documents, Amon was hesitant to be seen in public with the boy and suggested they find somewhere quiet, eventually ending up in a small shared bathroom in the underground carpark.

Police allege the complainant told them Amon asked him: “Have you ever done anything like this before” then kissed him and had the complainant stroke his erect penis.

It is alleged Amon then had the teen perform oral sex on him until he ejaculated.

The court heard Amon left the property soon after but continued his online contact with the teen and the pair allegedly agreed to meet up again about two weeks later.

It is alleged they headed to the same bathroom where they performed oral sex on each other before Amon tried unsuccessfully to anally penetrate the teen.

The pair allegedly masturbated each other, with Amon allegedly saying “let’s finish together”.

According to the court documents, the teen refused Amon’s attempts at a third “hook-up”, telling him he was moving interstate and blocking him on Snapchat.

The court heard the teen began to feel ashamed about what had happened and disclosed the alleged abuse to a teacher at school, who reported the matter to police and the boy’s mother.

However, the teen said he felt “intimidated and frustrated” when questioned by detectives and refused to provide further details to detectives at the time.

It is alleged Amon and the boy had intermittent contact on social media between 2019 and 2022, which included alleged exchanges of sexually charged messages and photos.

It is alleged during one such exchange, Amon asked the boy to be in a threesome with him and another person.

The court heard the teen reported the alleged abuse to police in mid-2022, less than a year before Amon was elected to NSW parliament in March 2023 as the member for Pittwater.

He was an opposition spokesman on infrastructure, housing and transport and served for less than 18 months before he quit parliament following his arrest in August 2024.

Amon was charged with 10 child sex offences including aggravated indecent assault and sexual intercourse with a child aged between 10 and 14 years.

He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and is expected to face trial in the NSW District Court in 2026.

Amon was granted conditional bail following his arrest but fronted court on Wednesday seeking to change his bail address from Narrabeen to Potts Point, saying he had already signed a lease for a one-bedroom, one bathroom property at $520 a week.

The court heard Amon sought to obtain employment in the area and most of his social life was centred on the Surry Hills and Paddington areas.

He also claimed to not feel safe on the Northern Beaches due to the extensive media coverage of his case and the broadcasting of his home address on national television.

However, Judge David Scully refused the application, noting the complainant also frequented those areas and there was concern the pair could run into each other on the street.

The court heard the complainant wrote a two-page letter in which he claimed Amon was “a danger to my personal safety” and opposed any “compromise or middle-ground outcome”.

Amon’s case will return to court on Friday.
