Ex-Finks bikie boss Troy Fornaciari back behind bars on fresh drug and violence charges

The one-time Finks chapter boss once planned to get rid of the ink that made him so distinctive. Three years on it’s still there, along with – police allege – a penchant for breaking the law.

Ex-Finks South Coast Chapter boss Troy Fornaciari is instantly recognisable thanks to his heavily inked face, which includes the words ‘Tuff Luck’ tattooed on his eyelids.

In early 2019, high-ranking Finks bikie Troy Fornaciari swore his life was going to change.

The then-35-year-old openly shunned his underworld past, declaring he wanted to move interstate and “start a new life”.

Fornaciari also made the shock announcement that he planned to remove the “embarrassing” facial tattoos that made him so distinctive.

The infamous ink includes the words "Not Guilty" in running script on his left cheek, "In Gods Hands" (sic) on his chin and "Tuff Luck" in capital letters on his eyelids.

However, The Daily Telegraph can reveal the one-time president of the fledgling Finks South Coast chapter was arrested earlier this year and is now in custody on remand – and still sporting a face full of ink.

Lake Illawarra detectives, together with officers from the Tactical Operations Unit, apprehended Fornaciari in May over serious assault and drug dealing allegations.

Police will allege Fornaciari bashed a 42-year-old man, threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over $20,000 in cash inside a home in Dapto, south of Wollongong, on May 13.

The alleged incident left the victim with significant head injuries, police said.

Police swooped on Fornaciari and a co-accused five days later, arresting the pair in a unit at Liverpool.

Police will allege their investigation also revealed Fornaciari had been involved in the supply of 250 grams of methamphetamine between Sydney and Wollongong in the month prior to his arrest.

Fornaciari was charged with commercial drug supply, demanding property by force in company with intent, using an offensive weapon in company with intent, and wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The second man, aged 21, was charged with demanding property by force in company with intent and using an offensive weapon in company with intent.

Both men fronted Liverpool Local Court the following day where bail was formally refused.

Their cases are listed for mention in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday.
