A man has pleaded guilty to concealing information about the alleged postcode wars-related death of a teen at an out-of-control house party in Ingleburn in 2019.

Alex Ioane, 18, was punched, kicked and stomped repeatedly after being mistaken for a member of the Cabra Boys – a crew that is based in Cabramatta – by associates of the Claymore Boys group.

Elimeleki Taumalolo, 28, pleaded guilty in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday to one count of concealing a serious indictable offence after admitting to keeping details about Ioane’s death from NSW Police investigators for 11 months after the attack in May 2019.

Taumalolo’s younger brother Mateaki Jeff Taumalolo pleaded guilty to affray for his involvement in Ioane’s death.

Elimeleki Taumalolo was facing three charges, including two counts of concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering an investigation.

But after negotiations by his solicitor Rayan Kadadi, only one of the concealment charges proceeded.

With the other two charges withdrawn, he pleaded guilty to the single charge and was listed for sentencing in February 2023.

Ioane is one of 11 teenagers to have been killed in NSW in the past four years amid ‘postcode wars’ among gangs or knife attacks as highlighted in The Daily Telegraph’s mini docu-series The War: Young Blood.

Paramedics found Ioane badly injured on Chester Rd at Ingleburn before he later died at Liverpool Hospital.

Five individuals – including several juveniles – who were all initially charged with Ioane’s murder, but later pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Several of them are due to be sentenced on December 14.
