Coward-punch attacker Kieran Loveridge could walk free from prison with State Parole Authority understood to have “formed an intention” to grant him parole.
Loveridge, who is behind bars at Broken Hill Correctional Centre, has been serving at least 10 years and two months in prison for the death of teenager Thomas Kelly in July 2012. He hit the teen without warning or provocation.
He was given an initial five-year sentence but, following community uproar, that was increased to a minimum 10 years and two months.
In May 2020, Loveridge was sentenced to an extra 12 months in prison after punching an outlaw motorcycle gang president while in custody.
Loveridge, a member of the Lone Wolf motorcycle gang at the time, pleaded guilty to the 2018 assault of the Penrith Rebels president Matthew Rymer while at Silverwater jail.
He was given a 25 per cent sentence reduction because of his early guilty plea.
