A brazen hit-and-run in Sydney’s east has been caught on camera, with images of the alleged driver fleeing the scene outraging locals.
The early 2000s silver Mazda with red P-plates allegedly rear-ended a black Grand Cherokee while reversing out of a parking spot on Brook St, Coogee about 5.15pm on Saturday.
A local resident who witnessed the hit-and-run posted images of the vehicle fleeing the scene, with the Jeep’s front bumper attached to the Mazda, in a local Facebook group.
“If this is your car parked on Brook Street this car with two boys in it backed into you and drove off with your bumper. Managed to get this pic … Hope it helps,” he wrote.
The images have outraged locals, with many applauding the local man for calling out the driver.
“Well done for capturing this,” wrote one. “Coogee’s own Batman. This is awesome.”
It is understood the incident has not been reported to police.
