Convicted killer Jessica Camilleri in strife again for pulling ‘clumps of hair’ from inmate

A woman who was jailed after beheading her mother has been accused of pulling ‘clumps of hair’ from another female prisoner.

Twisted Minds Episode 4: Jessica Camilleri

Jessica Camilleri, who was imprisoned after beheading her mother, has been accused of pulling “clumps of hair” from another female prisoner.

The incident occurred at Dillwynia Correctional Centre, where the 37-year-old is serving 16 years for manslaughter.

Camilleri was found not guilty of the murder of her mother due to her mental health issues.

A prison source said it is about the sixth time Camilleri has been in strife for pulling out hair of inmates or prison officers.

Two years ago, the Sydney woman had another year added to her non-parole period after she ripped out the hair of two female prison officers, leaving them in excruciating pain and with bald patches.

Camilleri pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer and inflicting actual bodily harm while housed inside Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre in 2021.

Last year, Camilleri was again in strife, with Corrective Services NSW referring to police claims she had attacked another inmate, pulling out lumps of hair.

In the latest incident, a prison source claimed inmates gathered around Camilleri after she again ripped hair from another prisoner.

The source said “clumps of hair” were found around the common area by prison officers who arrived to intervene in the altercation.

A Corrective Services NSW spokeswoman confirmed the “unprovoked attack”, declaring NSW Police were also notified of the incident.

“At 12.15pm on Saturday, 15 February, Dillwynia Correctional Centre staff responded to an altercation between inmates following an alleged unprovoked attack by a 37-year-old inmate,” she said.

“The inmate was removed from the accommodation unit where the alleged attack occurred.”
