Jessica Camilleri, who killed her mother, has been involved in another ‘bloody’ jail fight. It came just days after she pleaded guilty to attacking a prison guard before defecating in her pants.

Convicted killer Jessica Camilleri has allegedly assaulted another inmate inside Dillwynia Prison, just days after pleading guilty to attacking prison officers.

Sources told The Saturday Telegraph Camilleri allegedly “jumped on” another inmate in an unprovoked attack this week, pulling out lumps of the prisoner’s hair before officers could reach the bloody scene.

The incident has been referred to police by Corrective Services NSW.

Camilleri, who made headlines in 2019 for beheading her mother Rita at their St Clair home, last week admitted she assaulted a guard at the same jail.

Penrith Local Court heard Camilleri pleaded guilty to assault after attacking the guard who attempted to move her on from other inmates in March last year.

During the attack Camilleri defecated in her pants, according to court documents.

She will be sentenced for that case in Penrith later this month.

Camilleri, now 30, has had a chequered history behind bars since being sentenced to 16 years jail for beheading her mother in a gruesome crime that shocked the city.

Found not guilty of murder, Camilleri was convicted of manslaughter due to a raft of mental health issues she was suffering from at the time.

Her mother had been stabbed “at least” 100 times in the frenzied attack which her trial was told saw Camilleri “hacking like a butcher”.

She has faced several assault charges for attacks on guards and other prisoners in the years since, telling a court in 2021 her life in correctional centres has been “hell”.

Life in jail has been ‘hell’, Camilleri previously told a court.

“I’m looking at a long time in jail, I don’t understand this is a waste of time, they don’t like me and people outside want me to face more time,” she said at the time.

“I always get targeted too because of my crime.

“They single me out in prison because of the nature of my crime. No matter what I do, no matter where I go other prisoners will make my life a living hell.”

“At about 8.30am on Wednesday, 5 June 2024 an inmate assaulted a fellow inmate at Dillwynia Correctional Centre, at Berkshire Park,” A Corrections spokeswoman said.

“Officers immediately intervened, restraining the perpetrator of the assault.

“The injured inmate was taken to the prison health centre for assessment.

NSW Police have been notified.”
