It gives the message ‘don’t drink and drive’ new meaning. A driver’s morning commute got a whole lot more stressful when he spilt coffee on his lap, causing the ute to flip on a busy northwest Sydney street.

A man cheated death and injury on Tuesday morning when lost control of his ute at Baulkham Hills after spilling coffee on his lap.
Hills Police posted a series of astonishing images on its Facebook page that illustrate just how lucky the 54-year-old driver was to escape serious harm after he lost control of the car, causing it to move to the wrong side of the road and flip at Seven Hills Rd near Bingara Cres at 5.45am.
The incident sent social media into a frenzy with readers posting how lucky the man was to survive the incident.
“I have always had a rule; no food or drink (Coke, coffee, whatever) in the car,’’ Joy Shultz wrote.
“It all stays in the boot, in cool bags! It comes from a possibility of an accident (being sidetracked) and a lingering smell of food and a mess in the car!’’
Ian Connell wrote: “The driver was the architect of his own misfortune, luckily he didn’t take out anyone else.’’
Azadeh Slade wrote: “Thank God they’re OK! Thanks for showing us, it’s a timely reminder that the simplest things can cause an accident.’’
