Bathurst man found dead after 12-hour police siege

Police were called to a home in Bathurst at about 4pm on Sunday, a visit that sparked a 12-hour siege with a man refusing to come out from inside.

A 12-hour police siege in Bathurst has ended in tragedy, after a man was found dead in his home.
Emergency services were first called to Howick Street at around 4pm on Sunday, where the man refused to leave the residence.

Despite the officer’s attempts to negotiate with the man, he went quiet 12 hours later.

Police entered the property and discovered the man dead at around 4am Monday morning.

An investigation into the man’s death has been launched by Central West Police District to review the critical incident.
The Daily Telegraph understands the man’s death wasn’t suspicious.
