Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze
A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced into the incident.
Then, about 2.20am, police were called to the scene of the shooting.
On arrival, officers located several bullet holes in the window of the barber shop.
Mount Druitt Police Commander Detective Superintendent Darrin Batchelor told media it was “more than likely” the two teenagers had received instructions from other people.
He added said the timing of the shooting, indicated a “message” was sent to the barber shop owners.
It is understood the two kids were known to police in southwest Sydney for non-serious matters.
Supt Batchelor said the boys came to police attention due to the “manner” the Toyota Camry, which had been stolen, was driving in.
He said it will be alleged all three incidents are connected, but said motives were unknown at this stage.
He added members of the public should be aware that police are always out patrolling, no matter the time of day.
