Her life was fast and flashy, but her farewell was simple.

Only about 100 mourners gathered for the funeral of Lametta Fadlallah, the gangland mother who was shot dead in Revesby on August 13.

Her son Ghazi, 16, sat beside the simple white coffin adorned with white flowers, and kept a steely composure throughout the service at St Charbel’s Church in Punchbowl.

His brother Abraham, 19, stood outside the church for the entire service.

There was no mention of her killing. Nor of her underworld links or any trouble she might have been in.

To the congregation, she was simply a loving mother.

“Lametta lived for her children. Even when times were tough, she spared no expense for her sons,” mourners were told.

At the end of the service, Ms Fadlallah’s youngest son walked ahead of her coffin carrying a framed picture of his mother.

Her sobbing mother and sister, plus a handful of mourners, then released white balloons into the sky.

“Bye Lametta, we love you,” one relative yelled out as the balloons were released.

After the balloons were released into the sky, a few of popped as they hit tree beaches making an awkward sound for an already anxious crowd.

The hearse made its way to Rookwood Cemetery, where graveside prayers were almost drowned out by the rumble of the police helicopter hovering overheard.

But police said they would be taking no chances with tensions running high after the double murder.

Nine days ago, the mother-of-two was gunned down in a hail of bullets while sitting in the back seat of a friend’s car.

She was heading to an event at her partner’s restaurant, when the gunmen struck.

Friend and hairdresser Amy Hazouri, 39, was also killed, although police insist Ms Fadlallah was the intended target.

Her family have denied Ms Fadlallah had criminal links, and say she was nothing but a ‘good mother’.

“It’s all lies...she lived for her family only,” her sister Sandra Taouk said.

Ms Fadlallah’s funeral comes as The Daily Telegraph revealed Ms Hazouri’s body remains in a Sydney morgue while her family fights about where her resting place should be.

Her mother wants the body flown to Lebanon for burial while her father hopes to lay her to rest in Sydney.
