IT turns out Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is a pretty horrendous actor.
Well, that’s if you listen to the gaming developers behind the first person shooter Destiny.
Dinklage was originally hired to provide the voice for an artificial intelligence assistant in the game.
However, he has since been removed from the project after heavy criticism of his performance, which was described as wooden and boring.
Despite attempts to tinker with the actor’s voice to achieve an android-style delivery, the developers were still not impressed and subsequently replaced him with veteran voice actor Nolan North.
With Mr North boasting voice over credits on games such as Assassin’s Creed, The Last of Us and Uncharted, the gaming developers knew they had found the man for the job.
Creative director Luke Smith said the developers decided to get the actor to re-record all the dialogue in the game.
“We wanted Nolan North’s version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty,” he told Game Informer.
Mr North said he was excited to be working on the game and welcomed the challenge.
“They really wanted me to put my stamp on it,” he said.
“They let me bring what I wanted to the role. You have to give it your own spin. For that reason, I specifically said I didn’t want to hear anything that someone else had done, so that I didn’t have some preconceived notion of what it has to be. Instead, I just gave it my stamp, and let them direct me accordingly.”
Mr Dinklage is yet to comment on the matter.
