The Sydney side suffered their second successive loss when beaten by Perth on home turf.

The 83-71 win was the fifth on the trot for Perth who are finding good form at the right time of the season.

The Flames were without captain Belinda Snell, who was sidelined with a hamstring injury, with their import Asia Taylor starring with 31 points.

Courtney Williams was best for Perth with 26 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

After suffering back-to-back losses last round, Lightning again left the court disappointed as Townsville Fire continued their charge in the WNBL with a 101-78 win.

The victory moved Fire to the top of the table after seven rounds.

The Boomers extended their winning run with a 30 point win over a Canberra side which has not won in their last nine outings. Liz Cambagte collected 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Boomers.
