THE Sydney Uni Flames have locked in a big piece of their puzzle for next seasons defence of their WNBL crown with exciting youngster Alex Wilson re-signing with the champion club.

THE Sydney Uni Flames have locked in a big piece of their puzzle for next seasons defence of their WNBL crown with exciting youngster Alex Wilson re-signing with the champion club.
The former WNBL rookie of the year averaged 11.4 points and four rebound per game this season with the Flames.
But her numbers skyrocketed during the finals series with the young guard racking up a season best 27 points in the. Flames’ 111-69 win over Townsville in the semi-finals and 22 points in Sydney’s 91-82 victory over Dandenong Rangers in game one of the grand final semis.

“I really enjoyed the season with a great bunch of girls and being coached by Cheryl (Chambers) again,” said Wilson, 23, who joined the club in 2015.
“I am looking forward to coming back to have more success with the club and improving individually as a player.”

Crucially, captain Belinda Snell signed a two-year deal with the Flames at the start of the last season and will also be back, along with coach Chambers.
Other players from the victorious 2016/2017 team to now have signed on are Lauren Nicholson, Shanae Greaves and Lara McSpadden.
