Sailing’s Lisa Darmanin by the numbers as she chase Olympic gold on Rio waters

SHE is one half of a sailing combination hoping to race off with a medal in Rio.

Lisa Darmanin has headed into the unknown at the Olympics with the class she sails with her cousin Jason Waterhouse the newest on the Games program.

It is also the first time a mixed class has been included at the Olympics.

But she and Waterhouse on Wednesday will bid for a place in history as the first male and female sailing team ever to win a medal for Australia in the Olympic arena.

Waterhouse and Darmanin have been sailing together for eight years and went into the Olympics with victory in the Testy event last year.
