The Giants enter 2019 with one of the most different line-ups of the entire competition.
Gone are veterans Susan Pratley and Bec Bulley who held up either end of the court for years. Also absent is high-energy centre and England star Serena Guthrie.
But in is one of the best players in the world and a host of young guns who may one day earn the same accolade.
AUSSIE SKIPPER: Armed and dangerous for Super Netball
FEAR FACTOR: Swifts early season goal
LOCAL DERBY: Teams to fire up
Diamond shooter Caitlin Bassett has been snared by the Giants in what could well be a winning move for a side which is still to claim Super Netball honours after two years of trying.
BRUISING: Players bracing for rough and tumble
TEAM GUIDE: NSW SWIFTS
Bassett has twice won the Super Netball crown and was one of the most prolific and accurate shooters in 2018
The emergence of Jamie-Lee Price will help shore up a different looking defence line now Bulley has retired with rising star Kiera Austin keeping the more established shooters on their toes.
The Giants defence is an equal blend of youth and experience with two stalwarts in Sam Poolman and Kristiana Manu’a and two debutants in Matilda McDonell and Teigan O’Shannassy.
Coached by stalwart Julie Fiztgerald, the Giants have the roster and big names to win Super Netball 2019.

CLUB HISTORY
The Giants finished third in the 2018 season of Super Netball.
A year earlier they made the Grand Final but were beaten by Sunshine Coast Lightning.
THE LEADER
Veteran Kim Green leads the team with heart and vigour.
Green came back from a potentially career-ending injury in 2017 to be one of the great performers of 2018.
With Susan Pratley and Bec Bulley now gone, she is the most experienced player by far.
Her leadership alongside Australian captain Bassett could prove the difference between winning and loosing this year.
THE INTERNATIONAL
Jo Harten was part of the English team that broke Australian hearts at the Commonwealth Games last year and the top scorer for the Giants in 2018.
She is also the only international in the Giants.
WHAT WE WANT TO SEE
Jamie-Lee Price, Jamie-Lee Price and more Jamie-Lee Price. She’s exciting, tenacious and dogged and, as we all know, on the rise.
Price has grown in leaps and bounds since cracking the Australian team and adds real punch to the Giants defence - along with plenty of passion.
THE NEWCOMER
Arguably one of the best players in the world, Australian captain Bassett. This shooting machine comes via the Sunshine Coast Lightning and brings with her the experience and confidence of two Super Netball crowns.
Her presence will alter the style of the Giants significantly and hopefully propel them into their first ever Super Netball Final.
Bassett’s pre-season has been hindered by a fractured forearm the Australia captain sustained while touring with the Diamonds in January.
