BEAT THE BOOKIE: VALUE BETS
ROSEHILL
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 10422
FAROLITOS
Race 7, No. 3
Had to shoulder 60kg and conceded the winner 9kg when narrowly beaten at Randwick over 1600m last start. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and is well placed after the claim in the Monaco Cup. Farolitos is yet to place in four Rosehill runs but he has performed on slow and heavy tracks.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 947x3
TALES OF GRIMM
Race 8, No. 5
Had his own tale to tell following the Scone Cup where he was baulked for a run in the stretch and should have finished a lot closer than what the formguide reveals. Stick with him, back on his own dung hill.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 4520x
MARENOSTRO
Race 4, No. 5
Resumed with a strong win this course and distance last month. Has solid second-up record and enjoys wet ground. Stick with him.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.50

SANDOWN HILLSIDE
MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: x0734
NOZOMI
Race 6, No. 1
Two runs back solid and gets to winnable trip. Hard to toss.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50
DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun). Form: 12331
JALAN JALAN
Race 8, No. 3
Forget last start when she fell asleep with the ear muffs on and flopped out of the barriers. Well drawn, and go on close second to Miss Promiscuity two starts back.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 2333x
RUETTIGER
Race 9, No. 12
Should now be ready to win. Finished second to the in-form Illustrious Lad at Morphettville last start which reads well.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 17215
MONTOYA’S SECRET
Race 1, No. 2
Finished second behind Sebring Dream last start and banking on that formline being the strongest in this race.
TAB fixed odds: $3.10
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 31511
SYSMO
Race 4, No. 2
Will appreciate the long straight at Sandown and should be reaching peak fitness for this. Extra distance will be a bonus as well after last-start third over 1600m at Caulfield.
TAB Fixed Odds: $6
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 22603
THE NEW BOY
Race 6, No. 4
Hugely consistent Victorian gelding who stuck to his guns when a close-up second at Flemington last time. Won at his only start this track and distance and apprentice Ryan Hurdle is sure to have him on the pace from barrier four. Should be in the firing line for a long way.
TAB Fixed Odds: $2.90
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 2336x
USAIN DANE
Race 5, No. 4
Hard not to be impressed when he came off the speed and unleashed a powerful sprint to win easily first-up for Phillip Stokes before again getting back and making some ground behind Shaf. Drawn well and should take some beating here.
TAB Fixed Odds: $5
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
BELMONT
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 11121
STAR EXHIBIT
Race 3, No. 2
Emerging top WA sprinter who has won four of his past six starts and looks perfectly placed to get the job done again. In well at the weights after the claim.
Note: Prices correct at time of publishing
EAGLE FARM (Abandoned)
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 92521
FEDERAL
Race 8, No. 6
Started near favourite in a race subsequent Doomben 10,000 winner Music Magnate ran in last time. Prior to that his run was a ripper behind Music Magnate at Randwick. Last two have been 1200m and 1300m after winning first-up off a long break at 1400m. Seems logical this 1500m will suit better now and he’s proven in the wet.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.20
BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 41237
ROMANTIC MAID
Race 7, No. 15
Kiwi three-year-old looks a good bet in the Queensland Oaks as (with High Chaparral pedigree) she is almost certain to love a bog track.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: x3315
TINA MELINA
Race 5, No. 7
Two runs back from a spell have been better than they look and she finally draws a gate here. Can be a bit tardy away but if she can kick up and hold a spot midfield then she will be hard to hold out at the finish. No good thing but a wet track won’t bother her and the $9.50 is very enticing.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50
