BEAT THE BOOKIE: VALUE BETS

RANDWICK

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: RANDWICK

RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 42229

METALLIC CROWN

Race 7, No. 4

The Chris Waller-trained galloper is on the quick back-up after a close fourth to Himalaya Dream at Rosehill last week. Fitter for three runs from a spell and down slightly in grade on Saturday. Effective on soft tracks and represents good value. Ready to win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 21x11

ELLE LOU

Race 6, No. 6

Loved the way she raced away over 1200m here when resuming, then ran on well for a minor placing last time out. Will be ready for the 1400m now, handles the rain-affected tracks and is another from the Chris Waller/Rory Hutchings combination. Excellent chance.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 6085x2

WINE TALES

Race 6, No. 1

Backing up after finishing 10 of 10 first-up last weekend. I doubt she ever hit full speed because her momentum was halted numerous times when she was about to let rip. She has come back well and remember what was announced last week that she has had bone chips removed and a wind operation since her last prep back in the summer.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7.50

DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 0x103

DARK EYES

Race 1, No. 5

Talented son of Snitzel kept fighting to the line to snare minor placing first-up last start. Meets the winner, Yuma Desert, better at the weights here and will give a big sight.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.30

FLEMINGTON

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: FLEMINGTON

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 73453

ODYSSEY MOON

Race 9, No. 15

Breakthrough win last start. Classy and well weighted to repeat.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

DARLY TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 1021x

EURO ANGEL

Race 6, No. 8

Shaping up as above average and despite a wide draw should be able to win again.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.80

MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: 3x462

TELOPEA

Race 2, No. 4

With only 52.5kg is going to be hard to beat, dropping 7.5kg on brave second last start at Sandown on a heavy track. Will also be suited by likely speed to be set by Danestrom.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.40

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 11212

SPIETH

Race 4, No. 1

Rising star sprinter aiming for a third straight win.

Looks primed to continue through the grades with Craig Williams in the saddle.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.60

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 11342

DEL PRADO

Race 5, No. 6

Loves this track and this distance looks perfect. Expect to be there at the finish.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 15202

NIMINYPIMINY

Race 2, No. 6

Doesn’t win often but is building towards another one. Last start was nosed out by Clemency, who has since won again, and they gapped the rest. Can handle a soft track.

TAB fixed odds: $3.60

EAGLE FARM

SPORTSMAN PREVIEW: EAGLE FARM

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 52117

AZKADELLIA

Race 8, No. 1

She was odds-on for this race a couple of weeks back and now eases to $2.30 off the Stradbroke ‘flop’. Hard to gauge how much slower it was in where she was, but fair to say it was a number of lengths inferior. The effort was far better than it looked. Clearly the best horse in this field.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.30

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 31523

ROYAL TITHE

Race 7, No. 7

I’ve narrowed this race down to two chances and I will probably back them both. I have Royal Tithe just on top of Brulee but there’s not much between them. Royal Tithe has had no luck at her past two starts and I think she is looking for this trip now. The sting out will suit her as well, while Brulee brings good form lines from NSW and will flash late. Back them both.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6.50

MORPHETTVILLE

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 2603x

CASH IS COMING

Race 8, No. 5

Hasn’t won since last August but put the writing on the wall with a close-up fourth last week behind Mubakkir in a race that’s likely to prove a solid form pointer. Won’t mind the sting out of the ground and expect Jamie Kah to give her a gun run from barrier three.

TAB Fixed Odds: $4
