Australians are involved in two events leading into the Opening Ceremony on Friday night.

The heats for men and women in archery and rowing will give Australia plenty to cheer about before the Ceremony begins from 9pm (AEST).

Australia already has plenty to cheer about after the Olyroos on Friday night pulled off a monster upset to beat Argentina 2-0 in men’s football.

Events scheduled for the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics

Rowing begins from 9.30am (AEST) with the single sculls heats, double sculls heats and the quadruple sculls heats.

Archery begins from 10am with the women’s individual ranking round and the men’s individual ranking round.

Australia has athletes competing in both events.

There are also preliminary events in Equestrian from10.30am and shooting from 9.30am with the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle pre-event training.
