Australian Olympian Jess Fox links with iconic beauty firm L’Oreal Paris in bold new plunge

Put a paddle in her hand and she’s a fearless competitor but Jess Fox admits she is suddenly nervous as she explains her latest career move.

She can tackle the wildest rapids without fear but Jess Fox concedes walking a catwalk in heels is another matter.

Australia’s superstar paddler Fox has joined iconic French beauty firm L’Oreal Paris and will be part of the Walk Your Worth Runway celebrating women’s empowerment next Thursday at the Sydney Opera House.

The walk embodies L’Oréal’s iconic “Because You’re Worth It” tagline that seeks to inspire women to meet their destiny with confidence.

“I’m both excited and nervous,’’ Fox said.

“Walking a runway, especially in heels, is definitely outside my comfort zone, but the iconic Sydney Opera House backdrop makes it an unforgettable opportunity. I can’t wait to meet the other incredible women and celebrate being part of this movement.”

Fox will be joined by other well down identities including actor Madeleine Madden, entrepreneur and model Riley Hemson, author and television personality Jessica Rowe and Paralympian Ellie Cole.

Marseille born Fox has special affection and affinity for the French brand.

“L’Oréal Paris is a brand I’ve known and loved since I was a teenager buying my first mascara and lipstick. Being born in France, I remember growing up seeing the ads in

French and English, and that French connection makes it such a lovely fit.’’

Since returning from her Paris gold medal triumph Fox has been in demand from sponsors and there is also a push to make her a senior Olympic voice in the countdown to the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

“There was so much build up to Paris and everything I did over the last three years was geared to perform at my best during those two weeks in July and August,’’ Fox said.

“Since then it has been such a blur and a whirlwind of celebrations opportunity, exhaustion and reflecting on such a huge moment in my career and my life.

“It was everything I dreamed about and the reality of being home has left me a little overwhelmed with the love and support from everyone. One thing I expected to feel was a lack of motivation for training which is completely normal given what we just did at the Games.

“So for now training is a bit more relaxed and I’m enjoying paddling and going to the gym without the same intensity as the Games build-up.’’
