Late mail: Sam Burgess made a successful trip to the judiciary on Tuesday night but is out due to a quad strain. Burgess was initially free to play after successfully downgrading a grade-two high tackle at the NRL judiciary, but suffered the injury during training this week.

“No, he’s not playing. He’s hurt his quad. It’s not too bad. It’s not going to be long-term,” Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett said on Saturday.

Dean Britt starts on the right edge in place of Burgess, beating Origin forward Ethan Lowe to the spot. Braidon Burns has been ruled out with a minor hamstring injury, replaced by Kyle Turner at left centre. Corey Allan joins the bench.
