St George Illawarra Canterbury Cup star Jackson Ford was on Tuesday named to make his NRL debut on the bench this weekend against the Gold Coast Titans.
Ford, 21, is hot off a reserve grade performance for the ages, producing an astonishing 190 points for the Dragons’ feeder side in a 36-16 win over Wentworthville.

It would have been the second highest SuperCoach score of all-time behind Tom Trbojevic’s 194 against the Gold Coast in 2018.
In an 80 minute performance, the back-rower scored four tries, had three linebreaks, made 16 tackle breaks and added 38 tackles.
Of course there weren’t available statistics for runs over 8m, so we reduced four of the hit ups to under 8m for one point each.
Obviously the reserve grade standard is a few pegs below NRL level, but hopefully at a near bargain price next season Ford could be a very popular option to begin the year.
Ford has been named in the NSW Cup Team of the Week nine times this year.
If Ford can convert any of that talent at NRL level he’ll quickly become a Supercoach stud and a fan favourite.
The Gerringong Lions junior won the Red V’s under 20s player of the year award in 2017 despite missing the first six games of the season.
While on the subject of future cheapies, highly touted teammate and prop forward Lachlan Timm earned his 10th nomination in the Team of the Week this season for his 73 minute performance in the middle against Parramatta’s feeder club.
