WHICH ORIGIN STARS WILL AND WON’T BACK UP?

Barring a late minute mishap, Api Koroisau has been cleared to take on the Raiders on Friday night. Koroisau played 80 minutes on Wednesday but he will take to the field.

Boom youngster Tallyn Da Silva will warm-up with the Tigers side on Friday but will only make his debut if something drastic happens to the NSW hooker.

South Sydney have cleared Cameron Murray and Jai Arrow to return after returning to training on Friday.

At North Queensland coach Todd Payten has confirmed Valentine Holmes and Reuben Cotter will back up for the Cowboys against Melbourne on Sunday, while a decision on Murray Taulagi will be made following Saturday’s captain’s run.

A string of Origin stars are preparing to back-up for their NRL clubs following Wednesday night’s Adelaide clash including NSW trio Nicho Hynes, Hudson Young and Tevita Pangai Jr.

Roosters and Queensland forward Lindsay Collins has also declared he’ll be fit for selection. Raiders and Blues forward Young has told club officials he will back-up on Friday night against the Wests Tigers.

He was on route from Adelaide to Sydney, ahead of meeting his Canberra teammates at Campbelltown on Thursday.

Collins told The Daily Telegraph he was eager to play against the Bulldogs on Sunday, which will involve a rematch with Dogs forward Pangai Jr.

“I definitely will back up for Canterbury this weekend,’’ Pangai Jr said. “We’ll see. I definitely want to work hard now.’’

Hynes, while dejected from the result, said his priority was to respond from the Blues loss by playing for Cronulla. The Sharks face the Broncos in a blockbuster on Saturday night.

“I’ve got to bounce back really quick,’’ Hynes said. “I’ve got another opportunity on Saturday night with the Sharks and that’s my main focus now.’’
