FERNS 38 v PNG 0

THE Kiwi Ferns have finished off their World Cup pool matches on a high note, defeating PNG 38-0 today.
New Zealand will take on England in a semi-final clash on Sunday, after their commanding victory today.
The Orchids fought hard to try to get a win in their World Cup campaign, but were unable to keep up with New Zealand’s momentum in the second half.
Both PNG and Cook Islands will now bow out of the World Cup.

NEW ZEALAND 38 (Amber Kani 2, Luisa Gago, Raecene McGregor, Hilda Peters, Maitua Feterika, Atawhai Tupaea, Racquel Anderson, Annetta Nuuausala tries; Raquel Anderson 1 goal) lead PNG 0

TRY KIWIS!

This time they go left and it’s bench forward Nuuausala who crashes over, taking two defenders along with her.

TRY KIWIS!

Half back Anderson finishes off some enterprising play from the Ferns. Kani makes a mini break down the right, she gets it away to the hooker Rota, she passes to centre Feterika and finds Anderson in support, who finishes off a nice team try.

 TRY KIWIS!

That Ferns right edge is causing PNG a lot of headaches. They go that way again, with the two halves combining to put winger Tupaea over for her second try of the tournament.

 TRY FERNS!

Second try in a matter of minutes for the Kiwis here and it’s done the same edge Kani scored her try only moments ago

TRY FERNS!

The Kiwis spread it right with some deft passing, catching the PNG defence off guard and creating enough space for Kani to slice through on the right edge and score.

PNG are throwing everything they have at the Kiwis but they haven’t been able to deliver that killer blow in attack. After some enterprising play they are caught with the ball on the 5th with the tryline metres away.

The versatile Peters grabs New Zealand’s first try of the second half. She goes over on the left wing.

We have a stoppage in play.

Ferns fullback Mcgregor is helped off the field after coming off second best from what looked like a dangerous tackle from PNG.
