That's all for tonight. It wasn't quite the Queensland derby we've come to expect in regards to a tight scoreline, but it had just about everything else. Brisbane will be flying into Round 3, while the Cowboys will be sweating on scans of a number of key stars.
The five things we learnt: Tevita looks like Taumalolo
Tevita Pangai Jr looked distinctly Taumalolo at Suncorp Stadium. Check out that and the other things we learnt from the match with CHRIS HONNERY.
It was a brutal display from Tevita Pangai Jr at Suncorp Stadium against the Cowboys, and he looked distinctly Jason Taumalolo-like.
Chris Honnery looks at that and the other things we learnt from the match.
PANGAI IS A GUN
1. Tevita Pangai Jr showed exactly why he is the next Jason Taumalolo. The monster 113kg forward was in devastating form and gave the Broncos some much needed firepower in the middle. He racked up 115 running metres, five tackle breaks and 14 bruising tackles.
HUGE INJURY FOR COWS
2. North Queensland will be sweating on the health of Jason Taumalolo who succumbed to a knee injury in his first hit-up of the night. The hulking forward failed to return to the field in the second half. His injury was compounded by the loss of John Asiata and Nene Macdonald who both failed HIA assessments.
OATES SCORING STREAK CONTINUES
3. Corey Oates continues his try-scoring bonanza having crossed the line four times in the past two games. It also takes the Broncos' winger to 12 tries in his past five regular season NRL matches.
BRONCOS DEFENCE TOUGH
4. They say defence wins matches and that was the case for the Broncos last night. Brisbane held the Cowboys to scoreless in the first half and were strong on their own line all night.
FLEGLER MAKES AN IMPACT
5. Rookie Bronco Tom Flegler showed he is more than ready to take on the NRL. The young Tully-product amassed 172 running metres including a rampaging linebreak which nearly led to a try.

Updates
THAT'S A WRAP
FULLTIME! BRISBANE 29 COWBOYS 10
The final hooter blows and it's a Broncos blitz in the Queensland derby. The final score favours the home side 29-10, with Brisbane proving far too strong. Tevita Pangai Jnr was enormous, but the entire side put in a high energy performance. It was a night to forget for the Cowboys who lost Jason Taumalolo to a suspected knee injury, Nene Macdonald to an unknown injury, while Michael Morgan appeared to be carrying an arm/shoulder niggle the entire game.
FIELD GOAL! BRISBANE
Icing.on.cake… Anthony Milford with some field goal practice to close out the game, 29-10.
Jason Taumalolo is believed to have sustained a medial ligament strain on his right knee, not serious but the club have used caution due to the scoreline.
Young gun Thomas Flegler with the most run metres in very limited game time, great signs for Brisbane's depth in the pack with Payne Haas and Matt Lodge still to return.
Two men hurt, two arrested in CBD brawl
Another consolation try for North Queensland. Cooper finds an offload to Morgan who does the same for Opacic who provides a lovely pass for Justin O'Neill to get on the score sheet. Kahu can't convert, 28-10.

TRY! BRONCOS
Order restored as Brisbane cross again through McCullough. Nikorima goes short side to Staggs who runs away and finds the hooker back on the inside. Isaako misses, 28-6.
Happy April Fool's Day Sydney! No joke, here's what we have in the paper for you today
They've hit back! It's Jordan Kahu in the corner (SuperCoaches owners breathe a sigh of relief). Granville goes blindside 20m out from the line, back-rower Mitch Dunn with a lovely cut-out ball for Kahu who is playing on the wing. Kahu converts, 24-6.
