Just a month after her first qualification test for her Paris 2024 Olympic hopes, Felicity (Flic) Turner is ready to the BMD Western Rumble by storm on Saturday.

The technical course at Port Kennedy, which is 55km south of Perth, is expected to bring out the best in Australia’s street skaters - and for Turner, it holds special significance.

The 16-year-old is no stranger to Rumble success, finishing first in last November’s Apex Southern Rumble women’s street competition, as well as picking up silver medals in the Western Rumble last year as well as the Rumble on the Reef.

All the Street action to be exclusively live streamed by KommunityTV on Saturday. The day starts at 3pm (AEDT) with the U9s heats. Turner will hit the rails from 8pm (AEDT) and will have plenty of tough opposition to overcome.

“I like this kind of competition,” the 16-year-old said.

“The crowd atmosphere is always heaps of fun and it’s just exciting to be a part of.”

Felicity Turner has big hopes for success this weekend.

Felicity Turner has a good Rumble record.

The competition comes after her biggest test in her short skateboarding career, when Turner flew off to the United Arab Emirates to compete against the world’s best at the 2022 World Championships.

After qualifying 15th, she reached the quarter finals and Turner said it was a great experience.

“The competition was good, just seeing where I rank in the world and how good the other competitors are,” she said.

“I think I surprised myself a little bit, I definitely did better than expected.

The 16-year-old has Olympic dreams.

“I mainly went over there to try my best and see how I compared, so I was super happy with my result.”

The result gave her some much-needed Olympic world ranking points, which has her currently placed 23rd.

Turner loves the course at Port Kennedy, saying ‘going to Perth is always really good, it’s a great park.’

“My main focus is just to land all my tricks and see how far I can get.”
