The best netball action in Victoria is once again coming to you live on KommunityTV in 2025.
Our exclusive weekly coverage of the Victorian Netball League will get underway on March 12 with reigning premiers City West Falcons kicking off their quest for a fourth straight title against Western Warriors.
The opening round clash begins KommunityTV’s exclusive live stream coverage.
It includes a Under-23 and Championship double-header live streamed every Wednesday on the Herald Sun and Geelong Advertiser websites.
After shifting to a 22-round season last year, the VNL will run for 18 rounds in 2025, with a four-week finals series to culminate in grand finals on Wednesday, August 13.
Performance competitions manager Stacey O’Neill said Netball Victoria was thrilled to partner with KommunityTV for another big season.
“KTV is a massive supporter of pathway sport,” O’Neill said.
“For so long, VNL has been a leader as a state premier league, and this year, there’s been a lot more happening behind the scenes to help elevate that brand and experience.”
The season marks the second year of the newest licensing agreement, with newcomers Gippsland Stars to field a Championship division team for the first time in 2025.
Highlighting the vast reach of VNL, the 2025 season will be played in 14 venues across Victoria.
Returning to many VNL homes again, the league will also venture into two new stadiums – Warragul Leisure Centre and Bayside Community Sports Centre.
“It’s been quite an exciting contracting period, particularly with Gippsland introducing a Championship team so we’re looking forward to how that plays out on court,” O’Neill said.
“From a league perspective, we’re elevating the fan experience at the venues and when watching at home.
“We have the best up and coming athletes out on court in the VNL and we want to show as many people as possible that incredible talent is coming from Victoria.”
KommunityTV cameras will also be going on the road with the VNL for round 5, with the split weekend clashes to be broadcast from Latrobe Sports Stadium in Bundoora on April 9 and Narrandjeri Stadium in Darebin on April 16.
The regular VNL season will finish up on Wednesday 16 July, where all 12 teams will come back to the State Netball Centre for a fitting finish to the 2025 season.
After playing off in the last two grand finals, both City West Falcons and Boroondara Express will again be contenders with Boroondara looking to put the painful losses of the past two seasons behind them.
Another side looking to go one step better this season will be the Hawks.
After going down in the preliminary final last season, AJ Ballantyne’s side has recruited arguably Tasmania’s best ever state league netballer in Ash Mawer for 2025.
The prolific scorer has won a record six Tasmanian Netball League most valuable player awards and has led the Northern Hawks to five premierships, including three straight from 2022-24.
