Sydney Catholic Schools Netball/Soccer Championship Finals: Catch five games of netball on Wednesday

Aquinas Menai has emerged the big winner from the Sydney Catholic Schools netball championship finals with double delight – including a heart-stopping overtime win. Watch all five replays.

It came down to the last minute of overtime to separate Aquinas College Menai and Mount Saint Joseph’s Milperra in a thrilling Sydney Catholic Schools netball championship final on Wednesday.

With teams unable to be separated after regular time, an extra quarter was needed in the junior decider and even that came down to the dying seconds.

Menai’s shooters were able to come through in the clutch amid an incredible atmosphere to win 31-29.

Aquinas College Menai found double success on the day, also taking out the intermediate final over Marist Sisters Woolwich, 28-16.

Another close encounter saw St Brigid’s Coogee hold on in a 22-20 nail-biter to defeat St Declan’s Penshurst in the Stage 3 boys decider.

St Andrew’s Malabar had too much firepower for St Catherine Laboure Gymea to prevail 35-9 in the Stage 3 girls final, while the senior girls grand final went the way of Marist College Penshurst as it defeated Brigidine College Randwick 35-27.

Brigidine College Randwick have the opportunity to cap off an undefeated season with a championship in the Sydney Catholic Schools netball finals on Wednesday.

The senior team, who impressed in their Conference final win back in June against Our Lady of The Sacred Heart College, Kensington, are set to face off against Marist Catholic College Penshurst, who are also yet to concede a match, in a blockbuster showdown.

The clash will be part of a huge two days of netball and soccer finals action showcased LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on KommunityTV.

Meanwhile, Aquinas Menai have the chance to pick up a double title success, with their junior and intermediate teams both making the deciders.

The juniors will take on netball powerhouse Mount Saint Joseph’s Milperra, who despite having all three of their teams in the conference finals only qualified the juniors for the championship.

The intermediate side face Marist Sisters Woolwich.

The day begins with the Stage 3 girls showdown between St Catherine Laboure Gymea and St Andrew’s Malabar before St Declan’s Penshurst take on St Brigid’s Coogee in the Stage 3 boys clash.
