Holy Cross, Ryde and Domremy have been crowned the 2023 Sydney Catholic Schools senior soccer champions after an intense day of finals action.
Holy Cross scored the only goal in their 1-0 defeat of Christian Brothers, Lewisham (CBHS) midway through the first half.
Both sides were evenly contested throughout the match, but Holy Cross held on to take the title to the delight of the fans watching.
CBHS were also unable to claim the stage three boys title, with St Joseph’s, Moorebank claiming a convincing 4-1 win and sealing the championship.

However St Joseph’s were unable to defeat St Columba’s in the stage three girls despite going 1-0 up early on, with St Columba’s scoring two more to claim the girls title 2-1.
The senior girls final was a hotly contested match-up, with Domremy College and St John Bosco producing a 5-goal thriller.
Domremy got on the scoresheet first, but every goal they produced was quickly equalised by Bosco.
However Domremy got the final advantage, finding the back of the net with minutes to spare in the final to secure the senior girl’s championship for 2023.
On Wednesday, an incredible second-half blitz propelled Marist College Penhurst to the junior girls championship over Bethany College Hurstville
Scores were level at half-time before Marist opened their account less than two minutes into the second half and the floodgates opened.
They piled on a further five goals to claim a dominant 6-0 win.
The match was one of four championship finals broadcast live and exclusive on KommunityTV on Wednesday. A further four games will be broadcast here on Thursday.

Other results on day on saw De La Salle Caringbah burst out of the gates in the junior boys, scoring a slick team goal from the opening kick off as they defeated Marist College Eastwood 2-0.
The strike came just 30 seconds into the match and was followed by a second 10 minutes later when a long-range shot spilled by the Eastwood keeper found its way into the back of the net.
Marist Sisters Woolwich claimed the intermediate girls crown with a 2-0 victory over Freeman Catholic College, however the latter did secure a grand final win in the intermediate boys, downing Clancy Catholic College 1-0.
