The Bond University Bull Sharks are charging confidently towards a top-two finish, undeterred by the fierce competition in the 2025 HART Premier Netball League Sapphire division.
The Bull Sharks arm-wrestled their way to a narrow three-goal win against Glitter Strip rivals the Gold Coast Titans last round, with the two teams now only separated by percentage at the top of the table.
Awaiting the Bull Sharks in round nine is another tricky test as they get set to take on the Carina Tigers at 4pm on Sunday.
That clash – plus the Ipswich v Moreton Bay matchup at 4pm – will be part of a live streamed Sunday HPNL double header exclusively on KommunityTV.
Bull Sharks head coach Rebecca Stower said she had been buoyed by her squad’s resilience.
“We’re such a well-connected group, built on mutual respect and care for each other,” Stower said.
“The Titans game was the first time since round four that we’ve had all players available, and there’s still room to strengthen our on-court cohesion.”
With the Bull Sharks stringing together four wins on the trot, including a one-goal victory over defending champions Ipswich Jets in round seven, Stower said her side couldn’t get complacent.
“We’ve taken confidence from those wins but we also took away some key lessons.
“In both recent games, we built strong leads but allowed our opposition back in through unforced errors.
“We need to be better at putting the foot down and consolidating once we’ve got momentum.
“That said, I’ve been really proud of how composed we’ve been in high-pressure moments to close out games, I’d just love it to be a little less stressful.”
The Bull Sharks dusted Carina by 31-goals back in round one but Stower and her side knew they would be facing an improved Tigers outfit.
With six rounds to play until finals Stower said her side were laser-focused on their goals.
“It’s tight at the top and really anyone’s competition,” she said.
“For us, it’s about taking it one game at a time and preparing accordingly.
“We’ve set our sights on a top-two finish, and we’ll continue building towards that across these final rounds.”
