She is the ‘one of a kind’ talent who has a second shot at making history on the rugby league field.

Just weeks after guiding Hills Sports High to the inaugural NSW Schoolgirls Cup premiership, dynamic five-eighth Olivia Vaalele will set her sights on an inaugural ASSRL Under-16s National Championships title with the NSW Combined High Schools side.

Vaalele will be joined by three Hills teammates in the CHS side for the week-long event in Port Macquarie.

Every match of the ASSRL Nationals will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV from Saturday through to the finals on Friday, September 29.

“There’s obviously so much talent in that schoolgirls team,” Wilson said.

“My girls from Bass High played them in the competition and they really stood out.”

At just 16-years-old, Vaalele’s natural talent for sports is undeniable.

Hills Sports High School coach Patricia Raikadroka said she is an incredible talent.

“I think Olivia is just one of a kind, I’ve never met a young girl like her that’s such a natural leader on and off the field,” Raikadroka said.

“She can back up everything she says, she would never ask someone to do something she wouldn’t do herself.

“You cannot coach someone to be the way Olivia is, she’s a beautiful person and an incredible football player.”

Vaalele will link up with Hills teammates Manua Moleka, Naioka Tuipulotu and Anastacia Leatupue in the NSW CHS team.

Raikadroka said she believed the Hills Sports contingent would contribute a lot to an exciting NSW CHS side who is chasing an inaugural ASSRL double after winning the Under-18s girls tournament in Redcliffe earlier this year.

“They play a lot of sports and they’ve been exposed to a lot of coaches but that doesn’t deter how much they can soak in from each coach,” Raikadroka said.

“They never question what I’m asking from them and they never question whether what they do at a club level is better.

“Anything a coach asks them to do, they’re willing to do.

“They’re really good at identifying what’s happening and scanning the field, then using their skills to their advantage.”

Wilson has hand-picked a squad filled with exciting talent including Hunter Sports High speedster Ella Knowles, Bass High sisters Trinity and Paige Tauaneai and Endeavour Sports High playmaker Kiara McGregor.
