Thursday action finished with Queensland South defeatin South Australia Country 76-42 in the girls.

Olivia Olechnowicz was back at it again with another 14 points for her tally, however SA were without their star Daisy Hocking which hurt their chances.

Earlier, Victoria Country picked up a comfortable 86-54 win over NSW Country in the boys.

Lucas Byrne was the top point scorer in this fixture with 17 points and 10 rebounds as well, followed by Nicholas Harvey who nailed three triples to contribute to his 15 points.

Following up from victory in the boys in the previous game, Victoria Metro girls picked up a 73-48 win over NSW Metro.

Victoria Metro have been impressive in the pool stage with just one loss.

Cleo Barbakas led the way with the points for Vic with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Sophie Richardson notched 12 points and 10 rebounds.

In the midday game, Victoria Metro defeated South Australia Metro 98-68 in the boys to keep their title push going.

Alexander Mabbott had a strong game under the ring for the winning side, securing 18 points and eight rebounds.

Tom Dammers was another strong influencer for Victoria with 10 points and seven assists.

This confirms an undefeated tournament so far for Victoria Metro boys.

Earlier, Victoria Country defeated Tasmania 70-48 in the girls.

Jada Button was the star for the winning side, dropping 20 points and three assists.

Matilda Neate also notched an impressive 26 points and two assists for the losing Tasmania side.

Queensland South’s Olivia Olechnowicz has scored 114 points in four games, including a 38-point haul against ACT and 34 points in the big win over WA Country. She is among the leaders in three point percentage, three point shots made, free throws made and free throw percentage.

South Australia Country’s Daisy Hocking has landed 98 points, including 26 points against ACT, 25 more in a wonderful performance against Victoria Metro and 29 in the surprise defeat to WA Metro. She leads the tournament in average rebounds and steals as well as free throws made.

With SA Country teetering on the brink of elimination, the need for Hocking to again produce some heroics is undoubtedly greater.

Victoria Metro girls, who have bounced back well after losing to Queensland South earlier in the week, take on a desperate NSW Metro team reeling after three defeats in a row at 2pm.

With Sophie Richardson leading the way, the Victorian girls are building steadily for the title run, while NSW Metro have been over-reliant on tall Sasha Clague.

In the other girls game on Court 6, Victoria Country tip off the day at 10am against Tasmania.
