From another dominant showing from a Queensland South star to a clutch three from WA Metro, Court 1 saw plenty of exciting action on Day 4.

The day started with WA Metro winning a thriller 71-70 over Queensland South in the boys.

Off the bench, Faitala Patu hit a three with just 11 seconds remaining to give WA the lead and from there they held on after Queensland’s own triple hit the front of the rim.

Later in the day, Olivia Olechnowicz put together her second 30-point outing of the tournament to lead Queensland South to a 83-61 win over WA Metro.

The South captain had 34 points, including 5-7 from three, to go along with five rebounds and four assists.

DAY FOUR PREVIEW

Two of the leading boys teams contenders at the Basketball Australia Under-16 National Championships will go head-to-head in a blockbuster day four clash on Tuesday.

Undefeated pair Western Australia Metro and Queensland South will face off at 2pm on Court 1 in Bendigo which includes games from both the girls and boys tournaments.

WA Metro captain Luke Paul has been the hot hand for his side while the dominant Isaiah Jorgenson will be looking to turn the game in South’s favour.

Both players have enjoyed strong offensive outputs to start the tournament.

Vic Metro will looking to maintain its perfect start to the competition when it takes on the Western Australia Country after recording a triple-figure win over the Northern Territory on Monday.

Archie Coady was on fire against the NT with 25 points in an impressive showcase of his squad’s depth.

Keira Robinson will be hoping her 24-point performance from Monday will carry over into Western Australia Metro’s clash with Queensland South in the first girl’s game on Court 1 on the day at 2pm.
