PREVIEW
Bruce Chaplin says results and personal performances were only part of the overall AFL Masters experience.
The 20-year Masters veteran, who is leading the Victoiria B Over 65s team into battle, relishes the week away every year.
“We all help each other out, we swap teams, have a kick and have a laugh, it’s just fantastic,” he said.
This year’s event features more than 1700 male and female players across 76 teams from all states and territories playing in age groups ranging from the Over 35s to those of Chaplin’s vintage.
“What I enjoy the most is all of the blokes and people here,” he said.
LEGEND AND GRAND FINAL FOE TEAM UP IN CRACKING CLASH
“No matter if they’re on my team or they’re the opposition, we’ve all gotten to know each other over the years.
He also enjoys the days off in between matches.
“It really is a great week holiday that we spend with our mates,” he said.
“We play golf, go play bowls, go for dinner and drinks, it’s just great fun and if you don’t want that you can just laze around and have a kick when you want.”
