BEST BET
Race 8 No.8 DEVGRU
Ran on well late (as always) at Queanbeyan last time. Bigger track, 1425m this time.

NEXT BEST
Race 4 No.3 FOURCADE
Placed all four runs at the track and distance. Barrier one seals the deal.

VALUE
Race 3 No.6 NAGADEC
First starter from an astute local stable. Latest trial was most encouraging.

QUADDIE
Race 5: 3,5
Race 6: 2,5
Race 7: 1,7,8
Race 8: 8

BEST EXOTIC
Daily Double 1st Leg (5), 2nd Leg (8).

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Louise Day has enough horsepower to figure in the TAB Jockeys Challenge.

RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1425m)
ADVENTURE SEEKER (3) is by The Autumn Sun out of Our Belisa who was fourth in the Dulcify and is herself a daughter of French Derby winner, Lope de Vega. That means that she will go a mile to 2000m and maybe more but 1425m on debut is tailor-made. DASHING POWER (5) has just two thirds from 15 starts but one of those was as recently as last Tuesday. On pacer who should be prominent throughout. A DOUBLE DEGREE (2) has the best form.
BET: Adventure Seeker to win.

RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE (920m)
NOBLE RUBY (9) hasn’t been seen since her close second on debut in a 920m maiden here on March 30. She twice trialled well before that so it looks like she has some ability. Apart from the wide draw, she is easy to like. Big watch on Jim and Greg Lee’s POWER SMASH (8) here on debut. The 920m is bang on, he looks pretty nippy. COMMANDORO (1) chased home the red-hot favourite Asurito here on August 30. Maybe the winner is above-average?
BET: Noble Ruby to win, quinella 8,9.

RACE 3: MAIDEN PLATE (1200m)
NAGADEC (6) is trained by Mark Gee who couldn’t have found the daughter of Kermadec a better fitting race to make her debut. First and foremost, she is trained here at Moruya where both of her (good) trials have been. DOWNTOWN BAR (9) has the race experience; Kerry Parker’s filly was a closing fifth of 10 in the aforementioned Asurito 920m maiden on August 30. Extra trip can’t hurt. BUBBLE TEA (8) has placed in all three starts in good company.
BET: Nagadec to win, boxed First 4 No. 6 (standout) 1,8,9,10 (boxed).

RACE 4: BENCHMARK 58 (1200m)
FOURCADE (3), a locally trained son of the now Germany-based Aussie stallion Counterattack, has raced here at home five times for a win and three thirds. Take note that those placings were all at this same trip. Barrier 1 is a dream. PERUNO (1) is a really tough little Pierro. He is ‘321’ into this, all of them here at the home track. Just creeping up in the weights now. SOHO SUSHI (4) has to go in on her Moruya form. Back from a good run in a very good Highway.
BET: Fourcade to win.

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 58 (1010m)
ASURITO (5) was a gift to punters at $2.60 (off his trials) when he made his anticipated debut here in a 920m Maiden on August 30. Granted he only won by a half-length but he came a long way from Hawkesbury but more to the point, it was his first time at the races, and he raced accordingly. Has a winning draw if he’s up to it. LAGUNA SECA (3) is a market-watch given he is first-up from his April 5 win which came first-up since December 10. Has the talent to threaten the favourite.
BET: Asurito to win, quinella 3,5.

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 74 (1010m)
FOURTH SPARGO (5) has raced nine times for three wins and five placings; three of those placings are in quality provincial grade, the one at Muswellbrook was behind Miss Cartel who goes well. The son of Bon Hoffa has returned home to Mark Gee for whom she is ‘131’ and all three were at Moruya over this distance. MASTER JOE (2) is a very fast horse with an impressive strike-rate. In fact, he has finished first (4) or second (5) nine times in 14 starts. SELHURST PARK (9) is the swooper!
BET: Fourth Spargo, Selhurst Park to place, Daily Double 1st Leg (5), 2nd Leg (8).

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 58 (1650m)
FUDGE (8) has won once in 11 starts but take note that she is one for one at this track and distance. The Moruya-housed mare ran well above her $41 SP when she closed off willingly to finish fifth to Peruno (in form) and Ronny Rock Art (subsequent winner) in a 1310m here on Aug 30. Terry Robinson’s SPRITELY EMILY (1) has a great record at this venue. In fact, she is a last start 1660m winner here 18-days ago beating PRINCE PAPA (7) who can this one win himself.
BET: Fudge each-way, box trifecta 1,7,8,10.

RACE 8: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1425m)
DEVGRU (8) has only won once in 20 but for one, that win was as recently as two starts ago. Secondly, he is one of those horses that is not only usually thereabouts, he is frequently the eye-catcher given the way he finds the line. Queanbeyan 1200m last start; Moruya 1425m now. Tick. BURROWA (2) turned in an uncharacteristic poor run at Kembla last start. It happens. Everything he’s done before that is good enough to medal in this one. ASTROGAZER (5) is progressive and promising.
BET: Devgru (best bet).
