They look easy games on paper, at home against the bottom two sides, but the Adelaide Strikers say they will take nothing for granted when the WBBL returns to town.
In a “Big Weekend” for the Strikers, the competition’s second place team takes on the Perth Scorchers on Saturday and then the Melbourne Stars on Sunday – both at Karen Rolton Oval.
The Sydney Thunder are also in town as the four WBBL sides face off as the competition’s fifth year approaches its halfway mark.
While the Strikers sit pretty at second on the ladder the Scorchers and Stars sit seventh and eighth on the eight-team ladder.

But Adelaide off-spinner Alex Price said with Perth having players such as Australian captain Meg Lanning and Elyse Villani for Melbourne you couldn’t read anything into what the ladder may say.
“It’s a very even competition and there are a lot of superstars in each team,” she said.
“So you can’t switch off otherwise you can get found out pretty easily.”
The Strikers are coming off a nine-wicket loss to the Brisbane Heat on the road in Mackay last week, which brought a three-game winning streak to an end.

Two changes expected for Redbacks
Australian fast bowler Megan Schutt said with the depth in the Strikers’ squad this year, they have named two 14-player squads for the two games this weekend, they were confident of getting back to winning ways on home soil.
“Clearly with me at number 10 there is really good depth in the batting line-up,” she said.
“So I think that has been a bit strength of ours, we are the only team not to get bowled out this season I think.”
Entry to all matches at Karen Rolton Oval this weekend will be free, and this weekend will feature the BOUNCE setup as part of entertainment for the games.
“We just had an awesome time on it, I would definitely recommend it,” Price said.
