Australian boxing champion Anthony Mundine says he would like to share the ring with Jeff Horn once again.

The 49-year-old is set to return for an exhibition fight in Tasmania in March and is determined to back up if his body allows.

Horn and Mundine fought in Brisbane back in 2018 with the former winning by knockout in just 96 seconds.

Mundine’s last official fight was in 2021 against Michael Zerafa in Bendigo.

“If I feel good and my body is still seeing shots, I would like to do another exhibition with Jeff Horn,” Mundine said ahead of the event in Hobart.

“His old team did me dirty in the sense they made me cut weight from 83 (kilos) down to 71.

“I was a dead man walking. My resistance was shot. I was silly enough to think I was Superman to overcome that.

“Meet me when I’m healthy.”

Mundine will take part in the Fight Cancer boxing event on March 15.

He will step into the ring against undefeated kickboxing world champion Prince Bunjaku for an exhibition six-round bout.

The event will be held in honour of organiser Grant Brown’s mother, Cheryle, who died in August last year.

Funds raised will go to the Peter Mac Cancer Hospital in Melbourne.

“I wasn’t really keen on fighting again but I always stay in shape, always stay ready just in case,” Mundine said.

“This is a great cause and something I’ll have some fun with. We’re going to showcase our skills and showcase our talents.

“We’re here to entertain, I was born to entertain and we’re here so let’s do it.”

The event will also see a contest for the Tasmanian middleweight title between Sab Wells and current champion Joe Corner.

Brayden Blackaby and Dave Eaton will face off in a lightweight bout where they’ll make their professional debuts.

Launceston boxers Chris Lenga and Jack Unwin will fight interstate opponents.

Liam McKenzie, who won silver at the national titles last year, and Thomas Barker will also be in action.

In the heavyweight division, Damien Johnston fights Victorian Sean McCullagh.

Hobart City Hall will host the event.

“It’s going to be explosive,” Brown said.

“I am so humbled to have Anthony and the Prince, two of the best in the business.

“It’s going to be a great event.”
