Two North Melbourne players were forced to apologise to their neighbours after a noisy night at their home with teammates breached the country’s strict social distancing guidelines.

Two North Melbourne players have apologised for breaking social distancing guidelines and being too noisy at their home in Kensington.
Housemates Nick Larkey and Cameron Zurhaar (both 21) were confronted by a neighbour on Sunday evening about social distancing after inviting teammates over to their house.
Nearby residents were also unhappy the pair were too noisy and created a disturbance on their outside balcony late at night.
While police were not called, the Roos players have on Monday morning admitted they acted inappropriately and have apologised for not observing social distancing guidelines.
The club followed up on the complaint with the players early this morning.
The two Kangaroos invited some teammates over to their home as the AFL announced a full shut down of the league to help combat the spread of coronavirus.

North Melbourne confirmed it had addressed the incident with the players, saying their actions were out of line in the current health crisis.
“The club has spoken to Nick Larkey and Cameron Zurhaar about a gathering at their home last night, which caused a disturbance to neighbours,” a club statement said.
“Both players have apologised unreservedly for the noise created and have acknowledged their actions were inappropriate given the current climate and social distancing measures.
“The club understands police were not called to the address.
“The players have been encouraged to apologise to their neighbours in person.”
Earlier on Sunday, the Roos pulled off a stirring two-point come-from-behind win over St Kilda.
Premier Daniel Andrews on Monday morning urged all Victorian residents to observe social distancing guidelines to help combat the spread of coronavirus.
North Melbourne officials have strongly backed the measures and have reminded their players to abide by the important guidelines.
The club has permitted all of its interstate players to fly home today following the AFL’s decision yesterday to postpone the season.
